Our Design Process
-
1 | Discovery Call
We always begin with a brief Discovery Call. During this 15 minute call, we discuss the overall scope of your project and determine whether we are the right fit for your needs. If we both agree to move forward, we’ll arrange for an onsite consultation.
-
2 | Consultation
We’ll start with an in-depth discussion regarding your design and style preferences and your functional needs and lifestyle. I approach design in a way that is custom fit for you and your family.
Using detailed measurements, notes, and photos, we’ll begin a preliminary design phase that includes budget planning, space planning, and contractor walkthroughs. A conceptual design will be presented along with an expense spreadsheet.
-
3 | Design Plan
Once you have approved the proposal, I will create the final plans and elevations necessary for the project. I'll select all products and materials specific to your design preferences and functional needs and create a comprehensive design plan that addresses every aspect of your space.
-
4 | Implementation
We will begin ordering all products and materials. We will track all orders and inspect items as they arrive. We’ll also handle scheduling the tradespeople that are required.
-
5 | Style & Reveal
Once construction has finished where applicable and all the furnishings have arrived, we will schedule an install day. After your space has been styled, we’ll do a walk-through reveal with you to resolve any deficiencies.
-
6 | Photography
Our professional interiors photographer will capture your space for our portfolio promptly after your project has been revealed. We will be careful to keep your information and the address of your Florida home completely confidential.

An interior designer addresses the structural layout and functionality of a space. Designers often hold Interior Design degrees and pursue ongoing education to keep up with building codes and advancements in structural changes.
An interior decorator specializes in the visual and more easily changed elements of a space, such as furniture, colors, fabrics, and accessories. Interior decorators may or might not have any formal design education.
-
Interior design projects can become more costly than anticipated if mistakes are made, including improper measurements, poor planning, and a lack of knowledge or industry resources. This is why DIY interior design projects often take longer and end up costing more than it would have to simply engage the services of a professional interior designer.
-
This depends on the scope of your project. When working with an interior designer, it is important to recognize that the design fee (or, the cost of paying a designer to create a plan for your space) is a separate fee and not including the price of materials or other tradespeople. That said, working with an interior designer will result in faster completion, higher satisfaction, and potential cost savings due to the designer’s experience, resourced, and connections with other vendors and trades.
